Jellybelly

This past week we had some gorgeous sunny warm days, now I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for the winter chill of this coming week. Mother nature's mood swings are such a tease. On one particularly warm day my brother Colin, his friend Jon and I went to a local hide away known as Jellybelly. The name is reminiscent of easter candy, however you'd be more likely to hunt PBR than eggs back here. Either way it offers some interesting scenery that doesn't seem like King of Prussia at all. It's a nice escape from the land of the mall.

This dress is a new favorite. It's from the Forever21 Love21 line. I love the color, soft material, and I have issues when it comes to fringe...being that I love it on just about anything.

In the Birds' Nest

I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many talented and creative people. Just this past week my lovely friend Deepa informed me of a tree in her backyard that had fallen down. She thought it would be a perfect place for a blog shoot. So with lovely weather accompanying us we did just that! The tree had so many thin branches that it felt like a giant birds nest, which I absolutely loved. I used to have a real affinity for wearing a lot of bird feathers in my hair, (before it was cool, i swear) so much so that bar tenders at a local bar just call me Feather now and i've got the bar tab receipts to prove it! I recently bought some new feathers, hopefully they'll make their come back into my accessories soon.

Another day at the F21

I love this crazy outfit. It's a little Mary Kate Olsen inspired...even though I think she looks super strange half the time. I'm not tryin' to hate though, i'm sure people have thought the same of some of my looks in the past! I wore this on New Years Eve after a flapper themed party fell through. I grabbed the top I had planned and the skirt I had packed for a separate outfit, threw them both on and fell in love. I love the contrasting textures of the chain-male sequins and soft raspberry lace. At the New Years party I went to the sequin top reflected all the light from the disco ball and laser lights set up in this quaint remodeled hundred year old school house turned club in the middle of the woods. It was quite a night, ended with my very first New Years kiss, a good memory. So without further adieu...these were taken right before a long night shift by my very talented photographer Allen Tone. I'm also lucky enough to call him my cousin!

Snow Day...sorta

An outfit inspired by CV. I love this thick floral lace dress. The bell sleeves and loose fit are romantic perfection. The back detailing is done beautifully. It's also made well, which is a must with a back like this dress has, otherwise it'd be done for in two washes. The accessorizing really makes the look pop. I've been on a hat kick lately, so i'm sure you'll be seeing more in future posts. This black one has a really great shape, makes me feel like i need a holster and spurs. I bought it last summer and haven't given it enough love, which i'll be sure to do from now on. The necklaces and rings are some favorites that i gathered together. More is more for me these days. The knee high socks are one of my favorite items to wear and i do so constantly. They ripped in such a way that it looks purposefully done, thanks washing machine! The boots are also a long time favorite, i have to mentally force myself to switch up my shoes. Stuck close to home on this chilly day, and used a backyard swing that I can't believe still holds my weight on that skinny branch. I guess I can relate though, i'm stronger than I look!

The Fabulous Cynthia Vincent

As mentioned in my last post I recently stumbled upon designer Cynthia Vincent. Her Spring looks for her line Twelfth St. range from flowy maxi dresses to knitted micro minis. Her separates include amazingly printed pants and light weight sweaters with interesting knit and cut-out details. I'd love to have each piece in my closet, but my personal favorites are the fantastic flowy patterned maxi dress and the mustard knit mini!  Her use of heavy accessorizing is right up my alley and every piece is so individually unique. It looks like each piece was slowly and thoughtfully collected from all over the world. I love accessories you can tell a tale about. Enough of me, her work speaks for itself! Enjoy the edgy bohemian magic.

Hope you're hyperventilating over how great it is!

First Post

I've been meaning to start this blog for a while now. Today I was feeling very inspired by a designer I just discovered, Cynthia Vincent. Her feminine bohemian apparel paired with tougher tomboy accessories makes me feel like she knows me. Her new spring line (a post coming soon!) is to die for. I very much enjoyed the funny stares and comments from strangers about my look today, as well as seeing the world from a 5'11" model's height. I got home from work before sundown, a rare occurrence this time of year, enlisted my brother Colin to be my photographer, and used my backyard as my first back drop. Here's the end result!

*Excuse the cast, I'm healing slowly but surely! :)

Raspberry velvet bell-bottoms from Urban Outfitters (an on sale steal), over-sized taupe cross tank from Forever21, cream asymmetrical blouse from Forever 21, denim jacket was a thrifty find, black bandage wedges from Dollhouse, Dobbs bowler hat from Grandpa and assorted jewelry is a mix of Forever21 and vintage pieces.
