Summer Swim Style 2012

Just got back from Naples, Florida last night. My family and I got some much needed fun in the sun (for the most part anyhow, we are family after all)! We celebrated my little brother's 19th birthday and my mothers 5 years in remission from ovarian cancer! We traveled all around to San Marco Island, Sanibel and Clearwater to see our hometown Phillies play ball. All in all it was a great time, and a great opportunity for a swim blog post!

Here are three different trends to try for this seasons swimwear!

Bohemian Fringe!
I've said before I love fringe on pretty much anything, so why not swimwear! This trend is really hot right now, and I absolutely love this monokini. When i saw it online last year I knew I had to have it! It's perfect for pairing with cut off shorts this summer for a really bohemian inspired look.

Retro Silhouettes!
Another huge trend for this season is retro inspired swimwear. Think The Notebook for inspiration. I loved Ally's swimsuit in the "If you're a bird, I'm a bird" scene, and pretty much the rest of her entire wardrobe for that movie. Amazingly tailored and lady like lusciousness with emphasis on those hips is what this trends going for! While I am built like a boy the trend doesn't do much for my shape, but I still couldn't resist this high-waisted bottom and bra inspired top striped number I was lucky enough to find in an Arizona thrift store.

Neon Brights meet Tribal Prints!
This bright purple is about as neon as my skin tone can handle. Neon is super on trend for this summer and it's being mixed into tribal prints that in past seasons have mostly stuck with natural tones. My tribal hot short is from last summer and for me it's neutral colors are perfect. This is my own interpretation of the trend, but don't be surprised to see these two trends intermixing into some really cute separates for summer!

Erin Wasson's Low Luv

I have an obsession with Erin Wasson, a model and now jewelry designer. Her style is amazingly edgy and chic. Makes sense that I would fall in love with her jewelry collection. I've described the pieces as looking unearthed from archaeological digs all over the world. They're also strikingly affordable ranging from as low as $25 to $150+!

Here's what the websites says about the jewelry and a few of my favorite pieces!

"Covet that amazing, unpretentious model-off-duty style? We all want it and Erin Wasson has it in spades. With an intimate knowledge of great fashion - she's appeared on catwalks from Armani to Chanel and styled Alexander Wang's runway shows - her Low Luv jewelry is gracing the same glossies she's covered as a model. Unsurprisingly, Wasson's low-key yet edgy personal style is channeled into collections that exude attitude and are anything but typical."
