Erin Wasson + One Teaspoon

My favorite model and biggest girl crush Erin Wasson models for Aussie based brand One Teaspoon in their latest collection named Love Cats (best name ever). Erin and One Teaspoon are perfectly paired. One Teaspoon's classic rock and roll vibe with shredded denim, muscle tees, a liberal use of leather and gobs of sex appeal are really brought to life with Erin's own disheveled dose of dope. Erin is quoted as saying “I’m a fan for life,” when it comes to the label that already has its own Aussie cult following. The campaign's lookbook and accompanying video were all shot in Venice, Cali. So without further adieu...

Erin's favorites were the gold leather pants, the flares, the domino rollers, the stripe bandits, the cash leather jacket, and the tees. So basically everything and she got to take it home with her. So jealous.  Personally I'm dying over the tie dye distressed denim. Can't wait for the line to launch! http://www.oneteaspoon.com.au/

Keep waiting for that day when Erin and I are going to become besties.

kneesocks in 95

It's been so hot this summer...I'm a little sick of heat waves. Don't get me wrong, there's part of me that never wants summer to end. Long sunny days, trips to the beach, swimming, I love it all! But my style is fit for fall, which is my favorite time of year. Its got it all - my birthday, my favorite holiday Halloween, and MLB playoffs, not to mention the foliage! So I've been trying to fake out my fall style in this heat. I love to layer, so even if its too hot to wear a flannel it's getting tied around the waist, just 'cause! The knee socks were a stretch, seeing as how it was 95 degrees and sunny today, but whatever...tans are overrated anyhow. Here's what I wore today...

1978 tiger tee, navy lace shorts, plaid, and knee socks - Heritage1981
Railroad stripe boot - We Who See
Jewelry - Family heirlooms, forever21, thrift stores, handmade from friends

Hope everyone in this heat wave has a friend with a pool!

P.S. Jack, my cat, has been feeling a bit better lately :)

Feline Frenzy

Life's thrown me another curve ball. It seems as though every time I'm ready to get back in the blogging saddle something comes up. Unfortunately I received some bad news mid June. My cat, Captain Jack, had not been himself so I took him to the vet. $400 dollars and multiple tests later came my worst nightmare, my cat's sick and there's nothing we can do for him. He has feline leukemia, and non regenerative anemia, which means he's not creating enough red blood cells. So he's been ridiculously lethargic, even for a cat. I've been spending all my time lately with him, making him comfortable and giving him love. He and I have come to an agreement so far as feeding him baby food with a baby spoon, it's actually kind of sweet. He's up and down for the most part, so it's hard to say how long i'll have my baby around (and he is still a baby, only 5 years old :( ) , but I plan on spending every minute I can with him. Contemplating thoughts, like "What's a cat lady, without her cat?" have been getting to me. I know I have to keep doing what makes me happy, and fashion, after Jack, is my everything.

So with Jack resting right next to me and my laptop I'm creating this post. This outfit had me feeling pretty badass throughout the day. I'm becoming addicted to my low slung black graphic tanks - I feel a rut coming on - gonna have to force myself out of it at some point...they just go with everything!

For past photos I've borrowed either my mom or brother's cameras. I have a habit of just hanging onto them after I've used them too. So recently they both demanded to have their cameras back (i need to invest, i know) and now both of their cameras are misplaced. I always knew where they were when I had them in my possession!...Just sayin'! So these were unfortunately taken with my android's camera, but I had fun styling them with a new website I stumbled upon http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ check it out sometime!

7 deadly sins tank - urban outfitters
leopard high-low skirt - forever21
olive combat boots - forever21
western inspired belts - thrift store finds

And of course this post wouldn't be complete without sharing a photo (or 4) of the sweetest kitty in the world, my Jack :)

The third photo is a painting my brother's girlfriend made for me. I absolutely love it.
Please send positive energy to my puddy-tat <3

Weekend at the Beach

This past weekend I went down to the Jersey shore with a few good friends. I brought this feather headdress that I made on a whim a few weeks ago. I got the Michael's Crafts store itch, a few hours later I created this insanely over the top headdress. It's been sitting on a display head in my room since then. Kind of goofy, got some great looks from passerbys while longboarding and walking the beach with my best friend taking photos. First look is a bit tougher; the second softer. Anyhow, I got some sun and all in all had a great weekend. As a disclaimer, I've seen other bloggers get hounded about making headdresses because some believe it cheapens Native American's heritage and their pride in their practices, I can assure you that is not my intention. Native American headdresses are a true art form and worn by those who have earned them. I'm an art history student, I've studied them and have a true respect for the art form. This is just me, being crafty, and expressing the unusual love I've had for feathers since I was just a little girl. I loved finding them in the yard and would always bring them to my mom, even though for whatever reason feathers made her want to gag when she was pregnant with my little brother. Don't worry she pretended to be thrilled.

Summer time and the livin's easy...

I'm back from outer space, i just walked in to find ya here with that sad look upon your face! Actually i'm just back from general summer do-nothingness and extreme lethargy. Lots of fun, but mostly boring things have been going on, like grad parties for myself and friends, performing Kid Cudi concerts in my car (feeling like a boss), tonsillectomys, promotions at work, and chipping a front tooth on a beer bottle while longboarding...among other poor decisions. So here we go, style blog summer edition!

I recently re-organized my closet, my dresser...and my second dresser. (Yes, I know.) Let me tell you, I should never buy a single piece of clothing ever again. I don't need anymore, but I'm an addict, so i do? Life struggles. If the managers at work ever tally my store purchase receipts again please check me into a mandatory psych ward for a 72 hour hold so I don't hurt myself due to extreme shame. So anyhow, I organized my whole wardrobe for summer. It's inspired me to not fall into my habits of only wearing one pair of designated booty shorts a week, and attempting to alternate tops. So far so great. (Aside from wearing one flannel Friday-Monday this past weekend, but it's so good, you understand) This look was inspired by waking up too late to shave my legs after a night out at the bar, pants it was, pants it had to be! Drug my little brother to the woods by our neighborhood for these shots and found a very disturbing well/hole/thing. Kind of creepy, my SVU mind takes me right to disposing of bodies. And on that note,  thanks go out to my wonderful boss Tina for encouraging me to blog this outfit!
