Growing Pains

Everyone everywhere in every moment is growing and learning from their personal experiences. We all have trials and tribulations in life that cloud our mind, force us to work through our issues and grow as people. Never underestimate the power of genuine conversation. I think we help each other grow more than we ever truly realize. The positive people i have surrounded myself with over the last few years have helped to support me during dark days and encourage me when I'm chasing the light. I owe them everything, and can only hope that I've given the same to them in return.

Never in life have I felt more content. I spent so long trying to figure out who I am, not realizing that I just am. There's no need to define myself, or place myself in some type of metaphorical box. I am multidimensional, complex and simple all at the same time. I know what I like, and I know what I don't like. This contentedness has brought me happiness that I've never truly known before. I've never been more comfortable in my own skin.

I've spent most of my life looking at all sides of an equation, like a typical Libra, rendering me often unable to make a decision. For the past few years I lived in a state of paralyzation, afraid to make the wrong decision and therefore choosing to be stagnant and make no decision at all. I have a new clarity about life that has freed me of this and it feels absolutely incredible. Clarity about life and certainty that I will live it right, it's all I've truly needed.

Seattle skies

It's been super rainy lately. I could use some sun shine. Vitamin D levels are dropping rapidly, and lets be honest I'm pale as hell already. It's been feeling like Seattle here in PA, so I went for something a little grungy and bohemian today.

Positive Energy

I am having the best day today, my glass has never felt more full! I'm so excited to grow my styling skill set. My most recent Forever21 online purchases arrived on my door step yesterday. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Fifty degrees never felt so good. Today was absolutely beautiful and the sun was shining. Mom and I have been meaning to go on a walk and celebrate her still being cancer free, so we hit up Valley Forge park after work today. I was half asleep when I dressed this morning, and ended up picking up an old black dress off my floor and then threw a thin knit tunic over top of it...all i wanted was to be comfortable, but I got a lot of positive responses on my outfit today. It was one of those nice days where complete strangers keep complimenting you. I was feelin' it. Even my favorite stereotypical Indian owner of a the Philly Premium Outlets convenience store, Yogi, was flipping out over my hat today. So with Valley Forge's sweet scenery as a back drop, here's what I wore!

What I wore today, national talk like a pirate day!

Hanging out in the yard with my first mate Jack. I've got a new dark mane that I'm still trying to get used to. Think i might lighten it up again.  The mint color on the ends im totally sold on, although it washes out pretty quickly, so there's definitely a bit more maintenance than i've ever dealt with before.

Lately i've been on a Lana del Rey kick. Her music is so empowering, and relatable. Her voice is haunting and her vocal range is incredible. Her videos are amazing as well, they're like works of art, which this historian can appreciate. I think they've been inspiring my wardrobe in slight ways. I've been working in more sex appeal to go along with my usual grunge. Exhibit A, what i wore today...
