Positive Energy

I am having the best day today, my glass has never felt more full! I'm so excited to grow my styling skill set. My most recent Forever21 online purchases arrived on my door step yesterday. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Fifty degrees never felt so good. Today was absolutely beautiful and the sun was shining. Mom and I have been meaning to go on a walk and celebrate her still being cancer free, so we hit up Valley Forge park after work today. I was half asleep when I dressed this morning, and ended up picking up an old black dress off my floor and then threw a thin knit tunic over top of it...all i wanted was to be comfortable, but I got a lot of positive responses on my outfit today. It was one of those nice days where complete strangers keep complimenting you. I was feelin' it. Even my favorite stereotypical Indian owner of a the Philly Premium Outlets convenience store, Yogi, was flipping out over my hat today. So with Valley Forge's sweet scenery as a back drop, here's what I wore!

What I wore today, national talk like a pirate day!

Hanging out in the yard with my first mate Jack. I've got a new dark mane that I'm still trying to get used to. Think i might lighten it up again.  The mint color on the ends im totally sold on, although it washes out pretty quickly, so there's definitely a bit more maintenance than i've ever dealt with before.

Lately i've been on a Lana del Rey kick. Her music is so empowering, and relatable. Her voice is haunting and her vocal range is incredible. Her videos are amazing as well, they're like works of art, which this historian can appreciate. I think they've been inspiring my wardrobe in slight ways. I've been working in more sex appeal to go along with my usual grunge. Exhibit A, what i wore today...

mandarin monday

 Last week I helped open the new big-box Forever21 store in the Montgomery Mall. Everyone worked amazingly well together despite it being completely unorganized and we even opened a day earlier than expected. The store is beautiful, i recommend my local readers go check it out. The King of Prussia big-box opening is scheduled for October, so get ready for that one too! Anyhow at the opening these mandarin orange platforms caught my eye. I had seen them at the Franklin Mills store about a month earlier during an overnight shift, and I thought they had slipped through my fingers, but i found them again! Only nearly broke an ankle a handful (two handfuls) of times today, so that's pretty good... These are definitely not my norm, but I knew i could work them into my wardrobe just fine. I like that they're a bit unexpected.

Erin Wasson + One Teaspoon

My favorite model and biggest girl crush Erin Wasson models for Aussie based brand One Teaspoon in their latest collection named Love Cats (best name ever). Erin and One Teaspoon are perfectly paired. One Teaspoon's classic rock and roll vibe with shredded denim, muscle tees, a liberal use of leather and gobs of sex appeal are really brought to life with Erin's own disheveled dose of dope. Erin is quoted as saying “I’m a fan for life,” when it comes to the label that already has its own Aussie cult following. The campaign's lookbook and accompanying video were all shot in Venice, Cali. So without further adieu...

Erin's favorites were the gold leather pants, the flares, the domino rollers, the stripe bandits, the cash leather jacket, and the tees. So basically everything and she got to take it home with her.
